The children will learn that shepherds care for sheep and realize that God is our shepherd. They will become familiar with the parable of the Good Shepherd and know what a good shepherd does for his sheep.
See How We Grow is a biography that follows the growth and change in twin siblings. We will work on cause/effect; initial /d/ and /k/, HF words: see, look; and -ot Word Family: cot - got - hot - jot - lot - not - pot - tot. I hope that you are writing these words on index cards for practice and review. The children will share their Timeline Projects which show how they have grown and changed. Due: Friday
We are working on teen numbers and will play number bingo. We are also learning what numbers come before/after on a number line.
We are observing how water evaporates and discussing polar animals and the cold regions of the world.
Our goal of 100 cans of soup for our "Souper Bowl" drive is within sight. We are nineteen cans away.
Homework: Counting by 5' and 10's sequence sheet - in your child's folder. Due Thursday.
Report cards will be sent home on Friday, February 11th, not January 31st as noted.
Your child will bring home his/her writing journal this week. Please read through it, write a comment, and return it.
You are welcome to visit during Open House this week. There are lots of things going on. Be sure to take a look at all the bulletin boards and "Student Report Cards". Everyone received an At!
Book Fair: Tuesday at 2:30 and Thursday at 9:30. Join us if you can.
Pajama Day: Thursday - no uniform. I will treat the children to a special snack that morning: waffles and juice.
