Let's celebrate today.
It's such a happy day.
The flowers all are growing.
See them swing and sway!
We continue to follow the way of the cross with our Stations booklets and try to show kindness to others in our words and actions every day. We'll view da Vinci's "Last Supper" and discuss its similarities with Mass.
Our literary selection is If You Go To Antarctica, an informational book. The children should remember many facts about this cold region from our earlier reading of Mr. Popper's Penguins. Focus will be on classifying/categorizing, Ee short /e/, capitals and periods, HF Words: go, here, from, and -un word family: bun, fun, nun, run and sun.
We'll work on telling time to the hour and discuss what activities take more/less time. We'll count and sort coins and play a coin game with our buddies.
We'll take the temperature of icy water and cold water. We've watched a bag of water finally evaporate and now have our eye on mold growing on bread. Our avocado pit and potato have finally sprouted.
In preparation for our "Class of the Month" assembly later this month we will begin discussing the rain forest and working on many art projects for the hall bulletin board.
A speaker from Passaic Recycling will present "Recycle Rex", a program on how to avoid too much garbage.
Thanks to all of you who came to the museum with us last week. I was very proud and impressed with the children's behavior, enthusiasm and knowledge.
