Thank you to all who helped out with our Rainforest Project. The bulletin board display in the hall should be complete by the end of the week. Also be sure to stop by and see our Estimation Day, Circus Day, and Get Caught Reading pictures on display.
We will read Abuela, about an adventure that a girl and her grandmother have in NYC. We'll discuss city/country life and compare the story with Faith Ringold's Tar Beach. We'll work on initial and medial /e/, the pronoun I and HF words:go, from, here, and the -ub Word Family.
We'll use rulers and non-standard units of measurement such as paper clips, yarn, and unifix cubes to compare length and read How Big Is A Foot? We are learning a lot about the rainforest as we prepare for our Class of the Month assembly later this month. Your child will be given his/her lines to practice. Be sure they speak slowly and clearly. More info will follow.
