"Jesus sent his Spirit to help us love like him."
Romans 5:5
The children will learn that Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Love. Each time someone is "caught" showing love by a kind word or action in class, he/she puts a star on our "Jesus is the light of the world" star.
We'll read The Little Engine That Could, a classic fantasy. We'll work on plot, Uu short /u/, nouns, and HF Words: what, said, and was.
We'll continue to practice addition by writing out some story problems and playing some games on the Smartboard.
We'll use a Venn diagram to compare Jack and the Beanstalk with Jim and the Beanstalk. We'll plant lima beans and observe their growth.
It was fun to watch our caterpillars build their cocoon and emerge as butterflies. No sooner did we release them when the ants arrived. It should be interesting to watch them build their tunnels. We can learn a lot about teamwork from them.
Thanks to all of you who sent in items for our Grandparents' Breakfast. The children especially enjoyed sharing their writing journals.
