"Jesus is present when the Church gathers to worship"
Acts 2:42, 46-47
The children will learn that God's family gathers together to worship in a special building called the church. They will become familiar with the different roles within the church.
We will read Bunny Day, an animal fantasy, with attention to sequence. We'll be introduced to the concept of time and talk about things we do during the course of a day. Phonics: Hh /h/, naming parts of sentences, HF Words: are, that, do; -et Word Family: bet, get, jet, let, met, net, pet, set, vet, wet.
It is Dr. Seuss' birthday (Do you know how old he would have been?) and we'll celebrate by reading some of his books together.
We'll work on skip counting and use the Smartboard to see odd/even numbers.
There will be several experiments with air, including to see if it has weight and takes up space. It will be fun to see whether a feather or tissue paper stays up in the air longer.
I will be sending home the results of our end of unit reading assessment this week, along with sentences from the unit for review.
